Drinking House
Granby
Built in 1896 by Alphonse Boire, this house is a fine example of the Boomtown architectural movement, as shown by its cubic shape and flat roof. This simple, efficient style with a relatively low construction cost offers plenty of interior space. It is an ideal residence for large families, like that of Alphonse Boire who, at the turn of the 20th century, brought together eight people. At the time of its construction, the house was valued at $1,800.
