This morning, I got up early. I tried to go out into the street, but I was trapped. The door was locked in three places. I'll have to wait...

I'm having a full breakfast this morning, I'm being spoiled. I'm cycling towards Varadero. I'm taking my time. I see a kayak training session.

I note the deplorable state of some beaches.

A beautiful bay.

A magnificent bridge.

I am visiting a museum that is being restored; it was damaged by Irma.

It is an old fortress, El Morillo, protecting the bay of Matanzas and the nearby river.

I'm taking a break by the sea.

There are jellyfish everywhere...I think they're hibernating.

The road is tough; I've had the wind in my face for four days. It's hard and very cold. Seeing this sign gives me courage again...

I achieved my goal today. Yay! I'll find myself a small room soon. I'm asking people about the impacts of Hurricane Irma. A man shows me photos and videos on his cell phone. Here's his picture.

Here is my photo.

Part of the road was torn up in front of their home. It was a beautiful encounter.

I got a video by transferring it to my phone. I decided to stop in a small village called Boca de Camarioca to spend the night. I'm tired of driving and it's freezing. Even the dogs are wearing sweaters.

I find myself a room.

I'm going for a short walk, I'm putting on all the clothes I can...it's 14 degrees, but with the wind chill it must be even colder. Tonight the temperature will drop to 8 degrees.

I'm eating a small cold spaghetti.

I'm going to bed early... I can't wait to eat celery!!! I can't wait to get back to Quebec!!! Here's my bike ride with the wind in my face...
